Is it a good time to buy a home in India? Many say yes. The stakes of getting a good deal is high. This is what is termed as bottom fishing in stock market.
My understanding of the situation is a bit different.
These are crunchy times; builders and developers would have invested some considerable amount in the Land purchase and the number of houses sold in the current fiscal is at the lowest level. Considering these two factors the probability that a finished product would be available for you in the specified time is definitely low. If the time frame is extended the impact would not be high but if the money that you have invested is not recoverable that the problems are more. If the builder or promoter has good liquidity then you would defnitely not get a good deal.
My 2 cents for the day would be to check if the project would be completed before bottom fishing.
